ZIM Integrated Shipping Services will expand its fleet of refrigerated containers by deploying an order of about 1,900 40-foot reefers during 2016.

The new containers, carrying the prefix ZMOU, were specifically designed to ZIM’s ZIMonitor service, which lets customers track, monitor and control sensitive, high-value cargo remotely.

The service provides a tailored solution for customers who ship pharmaceuticals, perishable food and other high-value and sensitive cargo. As part of ZIM’s comprehensive strategy, we are committed to further enhance and improve our services in response to what the market needs.”

Before it rolled out, a pilot of the ZIMonitor service was carried out in conjunction with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, according to ZIM.
