The new China headquarters of DP World, DP World (Shanghai), has been registered with Shanghai Lingang's new area.

Lingang is located in southeast Shanghai, with Pudong International Airport to its north and Yangshan International Port to its south.

China's financial hub aims to build the district into a "model" providing a high-quality social service system by 2035.

Reports said DP World (Shanghai) has received full registration services from the Lingang new area's international shipping service promotion center, which will help DP World (Shanghai) explore port and logistics value-added services and better utilize domestic and international market resources.

Following the opening of DP World's China headquarters, DP World will expedite the development of branch offices in Dalian, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Xiamen, and other major port towns in China to boost its links to global logistics markets.

Last year, DP World announced its aim to strengthen UAE-China trade — and boosting its support for the China-led Belt & Road Initiative.

As one of the biggest trade partners of the UAE, China's non-oil trade in 2019, was valued at over US$49 billion, while imports stood at 15% of total UAE imports of non-oil trade, valued at US$33 billion.
