DHL AND JD.COM EXPAND PARTNERSHIP
February 3, 2016

DHL and Chinese e-commerce company JD.com have signed an agreement to expand their partnership by cooperating on several cross-border supply chain initiatives.

DHL will be the preferred logistics supplier for JD.com’s international business group and JD.com will become a part of DHL’s Fast Growing Enterprises initiative, gaining access to DHL’s logistics solutions such as international express, air, ocean and road freight, warehousing, parcel delivery and local distribution services.

“Supporting the evolving needs of China’s online customers will require in-depth knowledge of international transport, warehouse and distribution,” said Wu Dongming, CEO of DHL Express China. “DHL is well-positioned to address this with our leading-edge facilities and expansive global infrastructure, which includes 11 gateways in China covering major trading hubs and inter-city connections.”

The two companies will also develop cross-border supply chain systems and operating processes to support JD.com’s expanding global network, according to DHL.
