UPS TRANSPORTS 80 METRIC TONS OF RELIEF FOR UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

UPS announced that has transported an additional 80 metric tons of humanitarian relief for Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

 

Through the UPS Foundation, the American logistics giant said a series of flights from UPS Worldport air hub in Louisville, Kentucky, is carrying medical goods, food, and water purification equipment, destined for Warsaw, Poland.

The supplies will be used by agencies coping with the growing refugee crisis from the military action in Ukraine.

 

"UPS is mobilizing our logistics network and expertise to ease unimaginable suffering," said Nikki Clifton, president of social impact and The UPS Foundation. "We're proud to work with our humanitarian relief partners to move these supplies that will help Ukrainian families focus on each other – instead of wondering if they have enough essential goods to survive the day."

 

Meanwhile, UPS said its employees recently discovered that smaller local hospitals in a dangerous area of southeast Ukraine were in desperate need of supplies and UPS Healthcare and partners in the Marken business unit have collaborated with local volunteers to make four deliveries of critical medical supplies to one of the hospitals in need.
