QATAR AIRWAYS CARGO TAPS WIREMIND TO BOOST ITS DIGITALISATION EFFORTS
March 6, 2023

Qatar Airways Cargo has tapped Wiremind to provide innovative sales and revenue management solutions for its comprehensive cargo product suite to support the airline in its pioneering digitalisation drive.

In a statement, Wiremind said in the multi-year contract, Qatar Airways Cargo selected three solutions from its cargo management suite, following a thorough RFP process.

Wiremind said using its Revenue Management system, Qatar Airways Cargo will benefit from advanced demand forecasts and optimised entry conditions, enabling the airline to maximise its entire network contribution and revenue.

The air cargo carrier will also have access to the newly launched Overbooking module, which leverages machine learning models to forecast the cargo show-up rate on the day, supporting flight analysts in their decisions on the overbooking percentage for a particular flight to minimise capacity wastage on the day of departure.

Wirewind noted that the last solution chosen by Qatar Airways is its original flagship product,  SkyPallet, which optimises space calculations at various points in the cargo lifecycle to ensure maximum capacity usage and accurate quotations.

"We are delighted that Qatar Airways Cargo has chosen individual solutions from our cargo product suite. It is a testament to the fact that we were successful in addressing Qatar Airways Cargo's needs and shows that with the support and vision of CargoTech, we are on the right track to building impactful products to help the industry digitise and adopt the latest technologies," said Nathanaël de Tarade, CEO of Wiremind.

"With the world's leading cargo airline now on board, we are more than proud, and we look forward to supporting Qatar Airways Cargo in shaping the air cargo industry of the future with all the opportunities that our advanced digital and data-driven machine-learning products can bring," de Tarade added.

Over the coming months, Wiremind and Qatar Airways Cargo will begin the implementation of the chosen solutions through workshops and training of over 300 users to further establish the airline’s digital vision and how its changing needs can be adapted and addressed within Wiremind’s flexible product suite.

Guillaume Halleux, chief officer of cargo at Qatar Airways Cargo, noted that digital processes and solutions play a fundamental role in taking Qatar Airways Cargo into "The Next Generation."

"In Wiremind, we have found a partner that not only shares our pioneering vision of the industry but already demonstrates key deliverables as well as the agility to grow innovative ideas together. Our ambition is to deploy the most advanced cargo revenue management solutions in the market, making full use of the valuable market and customer data that passes through our systems to ensure efficient resource use and achieve more sustainable profitability," Halleux said.

"Wiremind's unique machine-learning models offer highly promising results in this regard," the Qatar Airways executive added.
