Even as we give Boston travellers access to the reigning Airline of the Year, we will also employ this Airbus A350 to facilitate trade and generate new business growth opportunities in Boston and around the world.”

According to the carrier, the flight from Doha is expected to transport an average of 40 tons of cargo per week, while the flight from Boston carries an estimated 90 tons per week, the majority of which will be live lobsters destined for Asian markets such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.

The second JFK flight complements the existing Boeing 777-300ER flight.

Boston is Qatar’s 10th destination in the US. The airline is due to start passenger service to Atlanta, where it already has a 777 Freighter operation, on June 1, 2016 with a 777-200LR.
