UPS SAYS NEGOTIATIONS WITH TEAMSTERS TO RESUME NEXT WEEK
July 19, 2023

UPS signalled optimism for a possibility of a deal with Teamsters members as it announced the resumption of talks with the union representing 330,000 of its workers next week.

"We are pleased to be back at the negotiating table next week to resolve the few remaining open issues," UPS announced on July 19.

The announcement came a few days after UPS said it would be training its non-union employees to step in should Teamsters members push through with an earlier announced strike should no agreement be reached by the end of July.

This comes as contract talks fell through between UPS and Teamsters a week prior as both sides accuse each other of accusing each other of "walking away" from the negotiating table.

"We are prepared to increase our industry-leading pay and benefits but need to work quickly to finalize a fair deal that provides certainty for our customers, our employees and businesses across the country," UPS — one the largest employers in America, added.
