COSCO SHIPPING LAUNCHING NEW EUROPE – SOUTH AMERICA SERVICE
July 19, 2023

Cosco Shipping announced that it would launch a new weekly service ESE2, connecting North Europe and the Mediterranean to the East Coast of South America (ECSA) in September.

The service will allow the shipping line to achieve "full coverage" of the South America East region.

"ESE2 provides stable weekly service and offers very competitive transit time for ECSA to Europe (Santos to Rotterdam 18 days) and vice versa (Rotterdam to Santos 26 days), which assist our clients to achieve greater goals," Cosco said.

It added that the service will also offer a transit time of only 12 days between Algeciras, Spain and Santos, Brazil.

The Chinese shipping line noted that an expansive supply chain of products would facilitate the new service to reach the leading economic regions of East Coast South America with extensive truck and feeding network connections.

The new branded ESE2 service will commence in Montevideo on September 16, following the Rotterdam – London Gateway – Hamburg – Antwerp – Lisbon – Algeciras – Santos – Paranagua – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Itapoa – Paranagua – Santos – Rio De Janeiro – Algeciras – Rotterdam port rotation.

Cosco noted that to achieve more precise delivery to the European region, ESE2 calls various European base ports, including consuming markets such as the UK, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.

Lisbon's calling also reflects this service's diversity and will boast the continuous development for potential markets, it said.
