DaChan Bay Terminals yesterday welcomed a new Intra-Asia service SXT operated by Gold Star Line Ltd. (GSL) on the first day of 2024.

The announcement said the new service calls DaChan Bay Terminals every Sunday, enhancing the Asia network of the Terminals.

It added that the SXT service provides more competitive transit times for imports and exports of goods from and to Thailand and Cambodia, especially for exports.

"The fast and efficient service can effectively reduce logistics costs. In addition, SXT has a focus on the Bangkok shipping market and will help promote the two-way trade between China and Thailand," it said.

Meanwhile, two vessels, initially each of a capacity of 1,100 TEUs which will be upgraded to 1,700 TEUs, are deployed in the SXT service.

The transit times from DaChan Bay to Sihanoukville in Cambodia, Bangkok and Laem Chabang of Thailand are 4 days, 5 days, and 7 days, respectively.
