CMA CGM SAID ALL REROUTED RED SEA VESSELS TO NOW PASS CAPE OF GOOD HOPE
February 6, 2024

CMA CGM said all the vessels it rerouted from the Red Sea would now pass through the Cape of Good Hope amid continued attacks in the region.

The French shipping line said the safety of its seafarers remains the company's priority at all times.

"CMA CGM informs its customers that as from February 1st, 2024 and until further notice, all services initially routed via the Red Sea passage will now follow the Cape of Good Hope routing," the announcement said.

In late December, CMA CGM implemented additional measures in its Red Sea operations amid increased attacks on commercial vessels in the waterway.

Aside from implementing a Red Sea charge, it also announced the re-routing of several vessels from their intended route through the Cape of Good Hope.
