OCEAN NETWORK EXPRESS ENHANCES ITS TRANSPACIFIC NETWORK
February 15, 2024

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the launch of a new route, the Asia Pacific 1 (AP1) service, connecting Asia to the US West Coast.

It said that the company is implementing the AP1 service to cater to the needs of its customers better due to the consistent growth of US import volumes from Asia to the US West Coast.

The AP1 service is a strategic initiative by ONE to expand its coverage in the transpacific market and strengthen its foothold.

This new service introduces direct routes from Taipei and Shekou to the US West Coast, which will enhance the overall service network.

The return leg of this service features a fast transit from the US West Coast to Vietnam, with an expected transit time of 19 days to Haiphong and 22 days to Cai Mep.

"The introduction of the AP1 service underscores ONE's unwavering commitment to this crucial trade lane. Complementing our existing product mix, we are dedicated to delivering outstanding, reliable, and holistic services," said Yu Kurimoto, managing director of ONE, highlighting the importance of the transpacific market to ONE's global network.

The inaugural sailing for AP1 service is expected to commence in late Spring, around April or May, subject to applicable regulatory clearance.

ONE noted that specific details regarding the sailing will be announced soon.

The new AP1 service will follow the Haiphong – Cai Mep – Shekou – Xiamen – Taipei – Ningbo – Shanghai – Los Angeles – Oakland – Shekou – Haiphong port rotation.
