March 26, 2024
The Port of New York and New Jersey (Port of NY/NJ) said it is ready to assist Baltimore, and trade flows impacted when the "DALI" container vessel — carrying Maersk customers' cargo hit the Francis Scott Key bridge, causing it to partially collapse.
"Our thoughts are with all of those impacted by this collapse. The Port Authority is in touch with our counterparts in Baltimore, and we stand ready to assist with emergency resources and any other assistance that may be needed," said Bethann Rooney, port director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
"The Port of New York and New Jersey are proactively working with our industry partners to respond as needed and ensure supply chain continuity along the East Coast," he added.
