CMA CGM SAYS VENEZUELA OPERATIONS UNAFFECTED BY RISING TENSIONS

CMA CGM, one of the world's largest shipping lines, said its operations in Venezuela remain unaffected by recent tensions in Caracas.

CMA CGM said its Venezuela operations continue without disruption, with both discharged and in‑transit containers handled as planned.

"Following recent developments in Venezuela, we would like to assure you that Venezuelan ports remain operational and CMA CGM vessel operations are proceeding normally," the French shipping line said.

It confirmed that laden containers discharged at Venezuelan ports are being handled as planned; laden containers currently at sea are also expected to be delivered without disruption.

"There is no impact on cargo delivery to consignees in Venezuela," CMA CGM added.

U.S. forces captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores during a military operation in Caracas on January 3, 2026. The couple was flown out of Venezuela and transported to New York, where they are being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center ahead of federal court appearances.

Maduro and Flores face U.S. federal charges, including narco‑terrorism and drug‑trafficking offenses, stemming from indictments first issued in 2020 and updated in early 2026. Both have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
