The aircraft, registered D-ALCF, was given the name during a ceremony at Cairo International Airport.

“The greeting ‘Marhaba Egypt’ stands for the close connection between Lufthansa Cargo and Egypt,” said Sören Stark, board member for operations at Lufthansa Cargo. “We are proud of being so well positioned in this key market with more than a dozen passenger and three freighter flights per week.”

This is the 11th plane in the Lufthansa Cargo fleet to be given a name honouring a particular market. The carrier already has aircraft with names greeting Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Turkey and the US. All five Boeing 777Fs and 12 MD-11Fs in the fleet are to be given names in different languages, according to the carrier.
