Non-vessel operating common carrier and ocean freight consolidator CaroTrans has enhanced its India-US network by offering a new less-than container load import service from the Indian port of Nhava Sheva direct to Charleston in South Carolina.

Transit time for the weekly service, which was launched mid-August, is 25 days and has a Friday cut-off date. CaroTrans said that this is an important feature for time-sensitive garment and fabric imports.

“We continue to add new, direct ocean services to our network to provide our customers with efficient and reliable transportation options that best suit their customers’ supply chain needs,” said Greg Howard, CEO of CaroTrans. “CaroTrans invests in an extensive US and global network, and partners with the best NVOs in the world, to provide localized customer service and support.”

CaroTrans’ partner in India is Globelink WW India, which provides consolidations and has more than 15 inland container depots, according to a statement.

CaroTrans and Globelink WW India also offer direct import services from Chennai to Los Angeles and New York, and Nhava Sheva to Los Angeles to New York.
