HONG KONG TO STAGE CAPA'S GLOBAL AVIATION LEADERS SUMMIT IN 2024

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) announced that CAPA – Centre for Aviation (CAPA) will host its summit at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) in 2024.

In a statement, AAHK said the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Asia & Sustainability Awards presentation in November 2024 will gather executives from airlines, airports and the travel industry across the globe.

It features presentations, keynote speeches from industry executives and opinion leaders, as well as panel discussions – providing insight into local and global trends shaping the regional air travel industry.

"It is a great honour to bring two global events under one roof in our city, which reflects the role of HKIA as a leading global aviation hub. With world-class facilities at AWE, HKIA is not only an air transportation leader but also an arena for global mega-events," said Jack So, chairman of AAHK.

"We look forward to welcoming delegates from around the world and showcasing our city to a global audience," he added.

Marco Navarria, global content & marketing director of CAPA, for his part also signalled enthusiasm to hold the event in Hong Kong.

"We are delighted to be bringing the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Asia to Hong Kong in 2024. The Asia Pacific travel market has roared back into life over 2023, and 2024 is already shaping up to be a record year," he said.

"From the recovery of Mainland China's international market, the rapid growth of India, the success of low-cost carriers in Southeast Asia and the resurrection of flag carriers, the region is a hotbed of activity. Hong Kong is the perfect destination to bring these together," Navarria added.
