INDONESIAN FREIGHTER AIRLINE RAINDO UNITED SERVICES GETS AOC

Indonesian freighter airline, Raindo United Services, has been granted an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) allowing it to begin operations.

The airline said on August 23 that it received the AOC-075 Air Operator Certificate from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation, Ministry of Transportation.

Raindo will launch its operations with two Boeing 737-800BCF aircraft — the first (PK-RUS) arrived in Indonesia on July 14, and the second aircraft (PK-RFS) of the same type was received on August 9, 2023.

It noted that Raindo is preparing its first flight with both domestic and international routes.

In March, Raindo — which is based in Indonesia's Banten province — said it is looking to launch freighter domestic and international freighter services in July utilizing two leased B737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) with a capacity of 23 tonnes each.

The aircraft, it said then, would be equipped with Unit Loading Devices (ULD), oxygen tanks, and refrigerators to accommodate all types of commodities: perishable, general cargo, marine products, dangerous goods and live animals.

Domestically, Raindo said then that it would serve Balikpapan, Jakarta, Makassar, Medan and Surabaya. It will serve Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Singapore for its international routes in Asia.
