FRANKFURT AIRPORT RECORDS CARGO VOLUME GROWTH IN NOVEMBER

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) recorded an increase in air cargo volumes for November — higher than last year's performance but still slightly below the numbers in 2019.

Europe's busiest cargo airport said air cargo throughput — comprising airfreight and airmail — in Frankfurt rebounded in November, growing by 6.0% year-on-year to 174,258 metric tons.

Last month's volume was also higher than the 173,173 metric tons recorded in October, which was then 2% lower than the same October period in 2022.

FRA said at the same time, flight volume at the airport also continued to increase, with aircraft movements up 8.5% year-on-year to 35,310 takeoffs and landings.

Accumulated maximum takeoff weights (or MTOWs) surged by 10.7% year-on-year to about 2.2 million metric tons.
