The aircraft, registered D-ALCM, was named by Thomas Egenolf, director of Italy, Malta, UK and Ireland at Lufthansa Cargo during a ceremony at Milan Malpensa Airport.

“The greeting ‘Buongiorno Italy’ underlines the close link between Lufthansa Cargo and Italy. We are proud of being so well positioned in this important and highly competitive market with over 250 passenger and two freighter flights per week,” said Egenolf. “With our active participation in the newly founded Cluster Aereo consisting of representatives from associations of forwarders, handing agents and airlines, we actively drive improvements in infrastructure, processes and recognition for the air freight industry of Italy.”

Lufthansa Cargo already has eight aircraft with names that greet Brazil, China, Germany, India, Kenya, Mexico, Turkey and the US. All five Boeing 777Fs and 12 MD-11Fs in the fleet are to be given names in different languages, according to the carrier.
