WFS SIGNS DEALS WITH POLAR, LOT AND SWISS

Worldwide Flight Services has signed new handling contracts with Polar Air Cargo, LOT Polish Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines in the US.

The contract with Polar Air Cargo is valid for three years and covers warehouse services in Cincinnati for both Polar and its partner DHL. WFS will handle freight acceptance, delivery, build-up and break-down services, and provide full shipment visibility with its online customer service portal.

 

According to WFS, it will handle approximately 86,000 tonnes of cargo per year for the carriers’ Boeing 747F and 767F operations at the airport.

 

This will be WFS’ first time providing handling services in Cincinnati. The company has recruited almost 90 employees for the new contract, and relocated members of the Miami and New York teams to support the implementation during the first few weeks.

 

The contract with LOT Polish Airlines is valid for two years and covers passenger, ramp and cargo services in Newark, where the airline operates a daily 787-8 flight. LOT recently also appointed WFS to provide cargo and ramp handling services in Los Angeles.

 

The contract with SWISS is valid for three years and covers cargo warehouse services in San Diego for subsidiary Edelweiss Air, which is due to commence seasonal a seasonal flight from Zurich with an Airbus A340-300 in June 2017.
