March 18, 2018

Worldwide Flight Services has extended its cargo-handling contract with Qatar Airways Cargo at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

According to WFS, in addition to the existing cargo-handling contract, it is now also providing ramp transportation for the airline, moving cargo between the warehouse and the aircraft.

Qatar Airways currently operates three flights a day between Doha and Paris, using Airbus A350-900s, A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs.

Separately, WFS has also extended its contract with EVA Air at Paris to include ramp transportation as well as cargo handling. The airline flies a daily 777-300ER between Taipei and Paris.

“It is always especially pleasing when major airline customers decide to award you responsibility for their whole chain from acceptance of cargo to delivery to the aircraft side,” said Stéphane Scholving, director of cargo sales in Europe at WFS. “Qatar Airways and EVA Air have shown this commitment to WFS in Paris and by taking control of their end-to-end services, we are confident of delivering important service quality benefits to both airlines and their customers.”

WFS is the largest cargo handler at Paris CDG and serves over 150 airlines. The company’s volumes at the airport rose by more than 10% in 2017 compared to 2016.
