FREIGHTAMIGO LAUNCHES AMIGO POST IN HONG KONG TARGETING CROSSBORDER E-COMMERCE
August 11, 2022

FreightAmigo, a one-stop digital supply chain finance eMarketPlace, has launched AmiGo Post in Hong Kong to support the surge in cross-border e-commerce.

In collaboration with Australia Post, PostNL, Royal Mail and Singapore Post, it noted that AmiGo Post offers digitally activated services to key business locations in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe, the United States and the United Kingdom as it noted how tightened capacity, increased demand and surge in rates have put cross-border e-commerce companies under intensified pressure to continue delivering the same level of service while staying economical.

"We believe freight rate and time are both important costs of international logistics, being one of the greatest impacts on our customer's ability to meet market demands swiftly. The launch of AmiGo Post provides a one-click leased-line delivery tailored to the needs of our customers so that they can shave valuable time from logistics efforts," said Ivy Tse, co-CEO and co-Founder at FreightAmigo.

"Our postal collaborators across Asia, America, Europe and the United Kingdom, solidify our ability to offer customers faster and more cost-effective international delivery options so that we can simplify trade and support local businesses during this critical time," she added.

FreightAmigo said AmiGo Post is a new dedicated solution that provides a one-stop logistics solution tailored for cross-border e-commerce companies and online retailers in Hong Kong.

Increased e-commerce in Hong Kong

Through partnerships with various posts worldwide, AmiGo Post noted that it is estimated to create 35% cheaper average shipping costs compared to the market and faster delivery for cross-border e-commerce companies and online shops.

"AmiGo Post's entire digitalised processes and door-to-door collection will also enable customers to save valuable administration costs and time, and fulfil delivery orders faster," it further said.

FreightAmigo noted that the Hong Kong e-commerce industry has seen exponential growth since the pandemic. As more retailers adopt digitalisation, it has propelled the industry into a higher growth trajectory and e-commerce in the financial hub is anticipated to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.7% from 2022 to 2027.

"As we enter the height of seasonal logistics activity, the launch of AmiGo Post and the development of further FreightAmigo services will support local e-commerce companies and online retailers, as well as other SMEs, to capitalise on advanced logistics to maximise the potential of the peak season and further facilitate their business growth post-pandemic," Ivy of FreightAmigo said.
