Belgian-based Aertssen Logistics has announced the opening of a North American hub near the Port of Savannah in Georgia.
The new facility—located in Rincon, Georgia, just twelve miles from the Port of Savannah—will provide global logistics solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of agriculture, mining, and construction machinery and their clients.
Aertssen Logistics, a unit of family-owned and -operated Aertssen Group based in Antwerp, said the location in Effingham County, Georgia, was selected based on land to expand on, a strong local workforce, strategic highways and quick access to the Port of Savannah's 35+ weekly services to world markets.
Griff Lynch, CEO of the Georgia Ports Authority, stated that the Belgian company's new facility in Rincon would allow it to expand its logistics business model significantly and offer value-added services to customers in the region.
Georgia Ports highlights the Garden City Terminal's access to key interstate freight networks—I-16 for the East/West regions and I-95 for the North/South—which collectively can reach 44% of the nation’s consumers and manufacturers.

With the opening of the new US site, Aertssen said it is expanding its reach to support manufacturers of construction and agricultural machinery worldwide with innovative, efficient logistics solutions. To catalyze this expansion, Aertssen Logistics has established Aertssen Logistics USA Inc., as a separate entity that aims to double the current number of machines it processes annually by 2030.
"The quality of the company's infrastructure and innovative practices developed in Belgium have driven increasing demand from global customers to bring these services to the United States. Additionally, the American market has a large volume of machinery and significant growth potential. This combination of factors prompted the company to make the leap," Aertssen Logistics said.
The opening of the EPC in Savannah marks the next step in Aertssen Logistics' international growth strategy.
It said that in the coming years, they plan to open additional locations in Baltimore, Tacoma, and Houston.
The new facility in the United States offers comprehensive logistics services, indoor and outdoor storage, and various tailor-made technical services.
Aertssen Logistics noted that the 35-acre facility's strategic location near the Port of Savannah, a key hub for the southeastern United States, makes it an ideal logistics centre.
Aertssen Logistics prepares over 30,000 machines a year for global delivery to end customers in the machinery sector as a one-stop shop.
